Rollups are revolutionizing blockchain scalability, but face a critical challenge, sustainable economic growth. Alpha Engine is a unique solution that brings together three powerful technologies to help fuel sustainable economic growth for rollups. Symbiotic, Avail and Radius combine to form Alpha Engine, providing the essential tools that rollups need to scale efficiently and securely, while capturing additional network revenue.
Alpha Engine makes it easy for rollup developers to quickly access economic security, tap into an additional source of revenue and support high throughput transactions with verifiable data availability. All of this can be achieved for any rollup by adding Alpha Engine to their tech stack.

With Aplha Engine, Rollup developers inherit a number of benefits upon integrating, including:
MEV Revenue Generation: Validators have found a way to profit from Maximum Extractable Value (MEV). This is done by including, excluding or reordering transactions in blocks they build. This value capture flows through rollups every day, and Radius helps rollups capture that value so it can be redistributed to help fund the ecosystem and fuel growth.
Economic Security: Symbiotic provides a marketplace where token stakers can provide economic security to application developers wanting to secure their applications. Developers can quickly and easily tap into Symbiotic’s marketplace to help secure their applications.
High-Throughput: A key ingredient for scaling the throughput of a rollup at low costs, is access to affordable and secure data availability blob space. Avail DA provides an abundance of secure and verifiable data availability blobspace to help rollups scale effortlessly. The Avail Network will also soon enable crosschain transactions between Avail powered rollups via Avail Nexus.
What can I build with the Alpha Engine?
Alpha engine can be used with all types of rollups including exchanges, gaming or payment chains and even general purpose rollups. It could also be used to deploy a range of network services like custom sequencing services, intent networks, policy engines and more.
Decentralized Sequencers
Sequencers are a core component of today’s rollup architectures, that are often run by one centralized sequencing service. Using Alpha Engine, developers could deploy a decentralized sequencing service on the Avail Network that’s economically secured with Symbiotic’s restaking protocol and captures MEV via Radius. This sequencing service could then be utilized by rollup developers deploying on the Avail Network.
Intent Networks
Intent networks let users sign off on what they want to achieve, while the network finds the best way to make it happen.
Here's how it works: Say you want to swap token A for token B. Instead of choosing a specific path, you simply express your goal. The intent network then analyzes multiple factors - market conditions, slippage, fees, and network congestion - to find the optimal way to execute your trade.
Policy Engines
Policy engines add useful features to be leveraged by multiple parties within a network. Let’s take a DeFi protocol for example, they can protect against stolen assets using smart policy engines. These engines scan both on-chain and off-chain data to identify suspicious assets. When detected, they automatically alert the protocol, which can then block these assets from being used.
What is Symbiotic?
Symbiotic is the world’s first slashable restaking protocol, offering developers ready access to crypto-economic security. Instead of spending time bootstrapping liquidity to secure network services, developers can quickly and easily leverage Symbiotic’s slashable, restaked assets to secure their applications. This makes it much cheaper and faster for developers to take their apps to market.
How it works is that user’s deposit funds into Symbiotic vaults. The funds deposited in vaults can then be leveraged by app developers looking to economically secure their application, with slashing to penalize misbehavior. Developers pay a fee for these services, which the Symbiotic protocol automatically collects and redistributes back to token stakers.

What is Avail?
The Avail Network is a highly optimized network that today provides an abundance of data availability blobspace for rollups and other blockchains. It supports secure verification at scale thanks to its use of KZG commitments and Data Availability Sampling which allow anyone running a light client to independently verify data is available without relying on a full node. The Avail Network will soon support fast, secure and verifiable crosschain transactions for rollups on Avail via Avail Nexus.

What is Radius?
Radius is building products designed to help rollups maximize their revenue potential while maintaining security. It includes Lighthouse, which facilitates MEV internalization and helps rollups generate profits from arbitrage strategies, and Secure Block Building (SBB), which uses zero-knowledge proofs to protect users from harmful MEV attacks like frontrunning. Additionally, Radius promotes cross-rollup arbitrage and supports Ethereum-based liquidity integration to further enhance profitability.
