About Avail

Avail is a highly scalable data availability layer designed to power sovereign rollups, sovereign chains, Validiums and optimistic chains. It provides a robust ordered, data availability API that can be used to enable a wide variety of new applications.

Avail powers a peer-to-peer network of light clients, numbering in the tens of thousands, potentially millions that perform data availability sampling (DAS in short) to keep the data in a highly available manner.

Light clients on Avail can be augmented with application level validity proof verifiers so that each user on the network can verify correctness of application state transitions themselves. Light clients are extremely lightweight and can work on mobile devices as well.
